RUN OR WALK FOR CASA at the Martinsburg Mall
5K walk (inside) or run (outside)
THE RUN HAS BEEN CANCELLED; THE INDOOR WALK WILL TAKE PLACE--HOPE TO SEE YOU SATURDAY!
Those who registered for the run have the following choices: you mayparticipate in the walk, you may consider the registration fee as a deductible contribution, or you may use it as a pre-pre-registration for the SuperHero Run in October or next year's Frosty 5K. If you do not attend the walk, please tell Vicki at the CASA-EP office what your choice is. firstname.lastname@example.org
All proceeds form the event benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Eastern Panhandle, serving Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties. CASA trains volunteers who are then appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children to ensure that they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, the CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. Independent research shows that children with a CASA volunteer are less likely to spend prolonged time in foster care and less likely to re-enter care. For more information about CASA-EP, go to www.mycasaep.org.
One aid station will be available for the 5K run. Refreshments will be provided after the event, and restrooms are located inside the Mall.
Pre-registration is encouraged, and a tee shirt is included for all who pre-register. Day of registration will be available, but tees cannot be guaranteed for registrants after December 15.
Cost: $25 pre-registration $30 day of the event
